Shows to watch in 2016

So many shows and so little time to watch them all in! So I've put together a lit of some shows to look forward to for this year!

Marvel's Luke Cage (Netflix)
With the success of Daredevil and Jessica Jones it would only make sense to start a show about Luke Cage! Being my favourite character from Jessica Jones I am very excited to see this show! For those who haven't heard of Luke Cage, in this series he is an ex-con with super strength and unbreakable skin who now fights crime. One important factor in the MCU this is the third adaptation leading up to 'The Defenders' miniseries which will include the superheroes around Hell's Kitchen, including Iron fist who has yet to have his own series announced. With how good Jessica Jones and Daredevil were I think there was no doubt that this series would be a show to watch this year!

House of Cards Season 4 (Netflix)
This heavily political show just gets better! Focusing on politics in the United States and the story of
Frank Underwood I find it highly intriguing since I live in Britain it is interesting to have a taste of how another Country is run. Season 3 left us with Frank Underwood still on his presidential campaign but his wife leaving him would deal a huge blow to it. It will be interesting to see how Frank will deal with this and seen as most of his campaign is built off his relationship he has more than a small problem to deal with. Not only that Ken Spacey plays the part of Frank perfectly and so does Robin Wright as Claire Underwood. Both are a good reason alone to watch the 4th season this year and the detailed, political storyline is another!

Game of Thrones Season 6
We left this show at season 5 with an ache in our hearts and mourning for Jon Snow, very soon we
will discover what will happen and whether the hero we all love is actually dead or not. Not only Jon but the return of Bran is also exciting, but more importantly Hodor will also be back! Also after seeing the death of Myrcella Baratheon at the end of season 5, this could provoke a war between the Iron Throne and the Martel's in the south! Westeros has already been divided once before with the North rising up in the first three seasons and now it could be split again. We were also left on a cliff-hanger with Danaerys after being surrounded by a Khalasar and a rescue party being launched to find her, leaving Tyrion Lannister in charge of Meereen. So much to look forward too for Season 6 and no doubt why it is on this list!

Supernatural Season 12
Season 11 is yet to finish and it was left on a major cliff-hanger at the winter finale! With no idea of
how Season 11 will finish we don't know how Season 12 will begin but that makes it all the more exciting! Sam and Dean Winchester are no doubt two of the most loved protagonists on our screens and who can forget Castiel who joins them on the occasional venture. With so much happening in this seasoned show it is hard to tell when it will finish and makes it all the more exciting to watch! Every season from now onwards could well be the last and with a huge fan base it will be an emotional ending! But for now this show is a show to watch in 2016 as it is action packed, funny, great storyline and damn right so addictive!

Poldark Season 2
After one season it left us with Ross Poldark getting arrested, and now people want to see what
happens! The first season gave us a taste of 1700's Cornwall after Ross returns from War to his inherited land. Unfortunately his land not being the best but he tries his best for his people and is immediately respected by them. Perhaps this is why we loved the show so much, being in a place of nobility assisting those who are less fortunate than him, even breaking the law to do what is right! Aidan Turner could be the reason why the show is so popular, his character and many others as well have in depth and unique roles, coinciding with the storyline perfectly and for this reason it is on the shows to watch in 2016!

X-Files
The return of agents Maulder and Scully put a smile on many people's faces. With this show being before my time I am yet to watch all the X-Files seasons. But I am looking forward to the new season as it gives me an excuse to watch the rest of the X-Files! There really isn't much explaining I can do for this show, only that UFO enthusiasts around the World were jumping around in excitement when they heard of the shows revival. There was no doubting it when this show was put on the list, whether it will be what everyone's been waiting for or a complete flop, it will still be worth a watch this year! Right, time to sit down and get excited for this show by watching all the seasons!

War and Peace
This show started in Britain two days ago and has already been labelled as a great adaptation from the Russian Novel. Following a tale of the Russian aristocracy during the Napoleonic War time and Russian nobility. I have to say it was widely anticipated and when it started it was no less than what I imagined. It focuses on how the war against France changed Russian lives dramatically and how draining the war was. For the story and History this show has to offer I do believe it is worthy to be added to this list!

The Walking Dead Season 7
Season 6 has yet to conclude but everyone is still excited to know there will be more after the finale
of season 6! One of my favourite shows around has been one hell of a roller-coaster this season and has been emotionally draining on every level. Rick has been badass per the norm, but the arrival of Morgan made me happy! He quickly became a favourite of mine with his attitude being that of Rick's when he started, but it is hard to go back to that mind set after all that has happened and the kind of World they live in now where it is a survival situation. More and more characters being adapted from the comics including Negan and Gregory which makes it all the more interesting! There are so many reasons for this show being on this list and those are just some of them!

American Horror Story Season 6
Admittedly I have to finish season 5, but this show ceases to surprise in some fantastic and strangely grotesque ways! Not a show for the faint hearted it somehow catches my eye everytime I watch it. It
is unlike any kind of show currently on TV pushing boundaries even making those how are desensitised to graphic nature cringe and feel sick. With Season 5 being the first to intertwine previous seasons it has made it more interesting so far, making you wonder what else they have to offer in season 6! When it is released people will hope it to be bigger and more exaggerated in every aspect than other seasons, and for that reason it is on this list!

(Correction, Season four makes the first connection in the American Horror Story series, but all of them do have a connection of some sorts in them!
